Manti Te'o, a star on the college football field, had moved on to the NFL Draft now that his amateur career was over. He had been drafted by the San Diego Chargers in 2013 and his NFL journey was underway.

After overcoming injury and an uneven initial season, Te'o proved his mettle en route to a four-year deal worth $5.2 million with the Chargers.

Te'o then would go on to play for the New Orleans Saints and the Chicaco Bears.
